Lucas Ezequiel Viatri (born 29 March, 1987 in Buenos Aires) is an Argentine football striker currently playing for Boca Juniors.

Viatri started his playing career with loan spells with Emelec of Ecuador and Maracaibo of Venezuela. He returned to Boca Juniors in 2008.

On May 17, 2008 Viatri made his Boca Juniors debut, a game in which Boca played against Racing Club de Avellaneda and won 2-1.

In August 2008 he was part of the squad that won the Recopa Sudamericana 2008. In the Apertura 2008 he was a regular on the first team and helped them get the championship title by scoring 8 goals, one of them at the Superclasico.

[edit] Criminal Charge

On March 20, 2008, before his Boca Juniors debut, he was sent to prison after committing an armed robbery to a beauty shop. He was condemned and set free after paying a bail of $5000 (five thousand pesos). The probation, which still has to be committed, has driven an international transfer deal with the Italian AC Siena football team to fail because he can not leave the country until it is concluded.
