Luís Filipe Marques Amado (born 17 September 1953) is the current Minister of Foreign Affairs of Portugal in the government led by the Socialist Party. Before replacing Diogo Freitas do Amaral as Minister of Foreign Affairs on 30 June 2006, Amado was the Minister of Defence. He accepted the EU presidency for Portugal, on 30 June 2007.

Luís Amado graduated in economics at the Technical University of Lisbon. He is also advisor to the Portuguese National Defence Institute and Visiting Professor at Georgetown University. He is married and has two children. He lived much of his life in Madeira Islands, where he was a representative in the Regional Assembly.
