Love vs. Money is the second studio album by American R&B and pop musician The-Dream,[11] released March 10, 2009 on Def Jam Recordings and his Radio Killa imprint.[12] It is the follow-up to The-Dream's commercially successful debut album, Love Hate (2007),[2] and it features musical references to R&B singer R. Kelly and a more polished production than his previous album.[13][14][15] Love vs. Money received mostly universal acclaim from music critics, based on an aggregate score of 83/100 from Metacritic.[16]

[edit] Production

The-Dream re-teamed with his production partner Christopher "Tricky" Stewart who produced most of the tracks on the album, and Los Da Maestro, who helmed most of the tracks on Love Hate. Dream also enlisted the help of Lil Jon for the song "Let Me See the Booty".[17] He initially stated that he had collaborated with Ludacris and Fabolous, however they failed to appear on the final track listing.[18] Dream later confirmed his album contained 14 tracks, including collaborations with Kanye West, Mariah Carey, and Lil Jon. Upon the albums March 10 release, the iTunes version contained two additional tracks, the first titled "Hater" and the second "Rockin' That Shit (Remix)" featuring Fabolous, Juelz Santana, Rick Ross and Ludacris.

In regards to his new album, The-Dream stated:

This album's gonna be the same thing - a little more beefed up, I'm just gonna give you more. Every album I'm just gonna try to give you more of me, and what I think about certain things... This album is just gonna be the first album on some out of this world crack, basically.[19]
