[edit] Early life

[edit] High school

Palmisano graduated from St. Thomas Aquinas High School in 2001, after winning a state championship in baseball. In the Major League Baseball draft that year, Palmisano was taken by the Chicago White Sox in the 21st round (643rd overall).

[edit] College

He did not sign with the White Sox and instead attended Broward Community College, in which he graduated in 2003 with a business degree. That same year, he entered the draft again, and this time was taken by the Milwaukee Brewers in the 3rd round as the 69th overall pick.

[edit] Professional career

[edit] Milwaukee Brewers

After signing with the Brewers, he played for the Rookie League Helena Brewers in 2003. Playing in 47 games, he hit 6 home runs and hit close to .400 with a .391 clip. After the season, he was named by Topps as a short season rookie All-Star. He lead the Pioneer League in batting average and was Baseball America's short-season All-Star, Most Valuable Player and an All-Star at catcher.

In 2004, Palmisano played his first full season while playing for the Single-A Beloit Snappers. In 113 games, he batted .293 with 7 home runs and 65 RBI. He hit in eleven consecutive games from June 11 to the 26. Palmisano blasted two homers and plated a season-high five runs on August 23.

In 2005, he played for the Single-A Advanced Brevard County Manatees and batted .255 with 5 home runs. His season included being named to the Florida State League midseason All-Star game. His seven triples ranked fifth in the Florida State League.

For the next two seasons, 2006 and 2007, Palmisano played entirely for the Double-A Huntsville Stars. In both seasons he was named to the Southern League midseason All-Star game. He batted .241 with 4 home runs in 2006 and .256 with a career high 11 home runs in 2007.

On November 19, 2007, the Brewers purchased Palmisano's contract, protecting him from the Rule 5 Draft. On September 5, 2008, he was designated for assignment to make room for Mike Lamb.[1]

[edit] Houston Astros

Palmisano was taken by the Baltimore Orioles in the 2008 Rule 5 draft from the Milwaukee Brewers, but was immediately traded to the Houston Astros. He is competed with Humberto Quintero and J.R. Towles in 2009 to back up recently acquired Ivan Rodriguez, but was optioned to the minors.[2]

[edit] Pensacola Pelicans

Palmisano is now with the Pensacola Pelicans.
