The Brazilian Football League is highly regionalised because of the vast size of the country. The structure of the league has changed frequently from year to year as different configurations are experimented with. Now, the league has the same configuration of European leagues. Football is by far the most popular sport in Brazil and many of the world's best football players come from the country.
The list of Brazilian teams in football league is very vast (more than four hundred in Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF)'s official register). There follows a regionalised list of the noted teams in the Brazilian football league.
