Jean Astruc	1684 - 1766	French	Wrote the first great treatise on syphilis and venereal diseases, and considered, by some, to be the "founder of modern dermatology."[2]
Frederic E. Mohs	1910 - 2002	American	Developed the Mohs Micrographic Surgery technique (MMS) aka Mohs surgery in 1938 to remove skin cancer lesions while he was still a medical student at the University of Wisconsin–Madison.[citation needed] The procedure is often considered the best method for treating certain type of skin cancer with cure rate approaching 100%.[citation needed]
