Here are list of cities and towns in Cape Verde. In Cape Verde, the urban settlements have different names accordingly to their importance. The settlements of bigger importance (generally the more populated ones) are called “cities”. The settlements of relative importance (for instance, all the municipalities seats) are called “towns”. The settlements of lesser importance are called “villages”.

The majority of the population live in Praia or the island of Santiago which is 264,066 (January 1, 2005) which is home to 55% of the archipelago of Cape Verde.
