Linda Evans is an American science fiction writer from Florida. She is an author of nine novels and four anthologies, as well as of several other co-authored novels.

Both of these books have been written as first halfs or first thirds of a story. While this might not be mentionable otherwise, in the case of Far Edge of Darkness there is a literal cliffhanger at the end, meaning the story is unfinished and has been since 1996. Almost the same can be said for Sleipnir, which is also the start of an unfinished storyline.
