"Like Me" is the official debut single by the American pop group Girlicious. It was released on iTunes on April 22, 2008, a day before the group was formed in the season finale of the reality television show Pussycat Dolls Present: Girlicious.
[edit] ReleaseOn iTunes, "Like Me" was released on April 22, 2008 one day prior to The CW's airing of the finale, allowing many fans to find out who won before the finale aired. Also a 1:30 preview of the song was released on their official website on April 22, 2008[1]. It was also released on radio in India on 19 September. It was performed on America united. [edit] Chart performanceWithout a proper physical or radio release, the single managed to debut at number two on the Bubbling Under Hot 100 Singles[2] and number seventy on the Pop 100[3] solely based on digital sales. in addition, during the week of May 1, 2008, "Like Me" mada a "Hot Shot Debut" at number four on the Canadian Hot 100[4] becoming an instant hit in Canada; And eventually hit number 1. Their other single, "Stupid S***", debuted at number twenty. [edit] Music video A famous poster of Girlicious in the music video. The music video for "Like Me", directed by Steven Antin, premiered following the season finale. The video features Girlicious in a boxing ring dancing. It also features the song's producer Jazze Pha. "Like Me" premiered on Yahoo.com on April 23, 2008. The video won "Most Watched video at MMVA.com", with Stupid Shit coming in second place[5] [edit] VersionsThere are two different versions of the song. There is the iTunes version (which is the version where a snippet of the song was leaked) & there is the album version (a.k.a. the video version). The iTunes version is an early version of the song where the vocals are different (for example Chrystina's vocals). Instead of "you know I'm fly (know I'm fly)" (during Nichole's part) it's "you know I'm fly-fly". There is also background vocals when Tiffanie's part comes up.
