A view of Les Diablerets from Eduard Spelterini's balloon "Wega" on October 3, 1898, at 11:40 local time. Les Diablerets (Sommet des Diablerets, Summit of les Diablerets) is a mountain in the Swiss Alps, best known for the nearby ski resort of Les Diablerets. It is situated in the French-speaking part of Switzerland, in the easternmost area of the Canton of Vaud. Les Diablerets is commonly used as the name of the massif, which consists of several summits other than Sommet des Diablerets:
There are some glaciers on Les Diablerets, the small Glacier des Diablerets on the summit and the much larger Glacier de Tsanfleuron mostly known as Glacier 3000, due to tourist facilities. The Tsanfleuron Glacier can be accessed easily via the Scex Rouge by an aerial tramway from the Col du Pillon. [edit] TourismThe resort is located in a valley and has a ski school, hotels and a small town centre. Tourists staying in Les Diablerets have the option to ski on the northeastern valley of Isenau or the southwestern valley of Meilleret. From Meilleret one can ski down the 13 km run to the village.
