Rouge et Or (Red and Gold) is the name of Université Laval's varsity sports teams.
Home games are all held in the PEPS indoor and outdoor sports facilities.
The Université Laval is located in Quebec City.
The CIS football team won the Vanier Cup in 1999, 2003, 2004, 2006 and 2008. At the 2006 Vanier Cup, they defeated the University of Saskatchewan Huskies 13–8, in a game played in temperatures below −20 °C. Linebacker Éric Maranda was chosen to play in the U.S. East-West Shrine Game in Houston Texas on January 19, 2008.
Currently, the Rouge et Or hold the record for the longest winning streak in CIS football with 19 consecutive wins, achieved between 2004–2005.
The Rouge et Or are a perfect 5–0 in the Vanier Cup.
Glen Constantin has now won 4 Vanier Cup's with Laval.
In the 2008 Vanier Cup, Laval—ranked first in Canada—defeated the third-ranked Western Ontario Mustangs 44–21 to claim their fifth National Championship. Laval is one Vanier Cup away from tying Western for most Vanier Cup Championships in history.
