Kwatsi Alibaruho is the first African American Flight Director for the National Aeronautics and Space Administration. Alibaruho, who is one of only 58 people in his career field, serves as an International Space Station director. Alibaruho has been with NASA since August of 2005. His mother, Dr. Gloria Alibaruho, and his Ugandan father, Dr. George Alibaruho, encouraged him to pursue his dreams. From an early age, the NASA flight director showed an interest in science. Along the road, Alibaruho, who is a Massachusetts Institute of Technology graduate, has hit some tough times, but remembers always succeeding and earning praise after hard work. He also states that he is extremely passionate about the advancement of NASA technology and the next years of the space program in completing the ISS. [edit] External links
