Kuebiko (久延毘古) is a shinto kami of knowledge, studies and agriculture. In Japanese mythology, he appears in a tale of Ōkuninushi. When Ōkuninushi stood at Cape Miho in Izumo, a small kami arrived across the ocean. Nobody knew his name, and when a toad said "Kuebiko should know his name, because he knows everything of the world", Kuebiko was called and answered, "His name is Sukunabikona, a child of Kami-musubi." Kuebiko is a scarecrow (or kakashi in Japanese). Because he stands all day outdoors, he knows everything. In popular culture, specifically the video game "Ocarina of Time", the Keubiko appears as a scarecrow at Lake Hylia Link can talk to. He is worshipped at Kuebiko Shrine, a subordinate shrine (massha) of Ōmiwa Shine in Sakurai, Nara.
