[edit] OverviewThe town is the seat of the Anglican Diocese of Tanga, has a cathedral church, dedicated to St. Michael and All Angels, and also a teacher training college and a number of secondary schools. The district is drained by tributaries of the Pangani river. Korogwe District, according to the 2002 Tanzania National Census, had a population of 261,004.[1] It is bordered to the North by the Lushoto District, to the East by the Muheza District, to the South by the Handeni District and to the West by the Kilimanjaro Region.
