Kitivo is a small village in Lushoto district in the Tanga Region of Tanzania. It is an exceedingly poor village and struggles to stay afloat.
[edit] Kitivo Secondary SchoolLocated in the village is a secondary school. This school is looked after or partnered with Bramhall High School in England. For last few years Bramhall High School has been raising money through the students to help the students and teachers in Kitivo. [edit] Life in schoolThe students have a few old computers that have been kindly donated by the school. They cannot run very many because of the lack of power to the school. Bramhall High is organising a sponsored walk to Lyme Park and back, a distance of about 10 miles. We hope to raise £30,000 to help pay for a solar cell, a toilet block and a kitchen. To attend Kitivo Secondary School it costs £25 a year which is a lot of money for the citizens who live in Kitivo. Furthermore to have a school meal it costs £10 a term. If the family cannot support the school meal the student is left to watch his fellow students eat while he starves. Just recently, with the help from Bramhall High, they have built a Girls Hostel. This houses 70 girls while they are in school. [edit] Kitivo AmbassadorsThis is a group of students who put in enormous amounts of work to help the students in Kitivo. The leader of the group is the exceedingly dedicated Mrs Linda Tunnard. [edit] New ProjectsThe Kitivo Ambassadors are currently in the process of developing the webpages for the Kitivo Partnership. This also includes a creation of a new group on the soical networking site 'Facebook'.This is currently being spearheaded by Scott Thomas and Joshua Ost [edit] Partners[edit] External links
