Kia Byers (born October 6, 1987 in Regina, Saskatchewan) is a sprint canoer who has competed since 2000. She won a bronze medal in the K-1 4 x 200 m event at the 2009 ICF Canoe Sprint World Championships in Dartmouth. Byers also won a gold medal at the 2007 Pan American Games in the women's K-2 500 m event, alongside Marie-Christine Schmidt. She placed first in the K-2 500 m at the first set of national team trials held in May 2007. Byers competed at the 2005 Junior World Championships in Hungary, where she finished eighth in the K-2 1000 m and sixth in the K-4 500 m events. She made her international debut at the 2005 Pan American Canoe Championship in Lac Beauport, Quebec. Byers has attended both the University of Regina and the University of Saskatchewan.
