For the footballer, see Kevin Foley (footballer). Kevin Owen Foley, Australian politician, is the current Deputy Premier of South Australia, serving under Premier Mike Rann. Foley is a member of the Australian Labor Party. He also serves as Treasurer, Minister for Industry and Trade, and Minister for Federal/State Relations. He represents the electorate of Port Adelaide in the House of Assembly. The 2006 state election saw Foley receive a swing of 4.0% resulting in a margin of 25.7%. Before entering state Parliament, Foley worked for the Australian Trade Commission, Cadbury Schweppes, Boral Limited and steel distribution company Australian National Industries. Foley then went on to become a Senior Advisor and Chief of Staff to former Premier Lynn Arnold. In July 2006, Ann Bressington released a statement to the media claiming that a Labor politician had verbally abused fellow MP Nick Xenophon in the parliamentary private members' lounge. Foley later admitted to being the anonymous MP and apologised. [1]
