[edit] College career

Adams starred at linebacker at Clemson University, earning the nickname "The Teeth" for his gap between his two front teeth. This moniker would later evolve into "The Toothinator" (The Terminator + tooth) which was a more accurate reflection of the violent nature of his playing style and for the gap in his teeth. He played in 35 games during his college career and made 23 sacks which left him tied for third in Clemson history. He majored in parks, recreation and tourism management.
