Kahn was a game server browser for MS-DOS, Windows 95 and Windows 98 enabling multiplayer of IPX compatible games over a TCP/IP network. Very large community of Descent (computer game) players originally. The incompatibility of Kahn (the author of Kahn stated that he would never release the source code) with Windows XP led to a slow dwindling of the community until the final demise of the Kahn IRC channel in late 2003.
