[edit] History

Signed on the air in 1986 with KVEG call letters and a talk/sports format.

KVEG had a wide variety of drivetime talent including Sam Greenfield, Dominick Brascia, Lou Epton, Irwin Schiff and the syndicated Tom Leykis. In 1997, KVEG changed calls to KXNT. Management was looking to head this new station in a new direction. The new KXNT AM 840 "The Talk Station" would be a strong competitor against KDWN AM 720 in the coming years. Soon after stealing Rush Limbaugh away from KDWN, KXNT instantly became the highest rated talk station in Las Vegas as they remain to this day.

KXNT AM 840 would begin airing syndicating programs like Rush Limbaugh & Coast to Coast AM {Previously On KDWN}. Others included Dr. Laura, Bill Handel, etc. Local shows hosts include Alan Stock in the mornings and Casey Hendrickson in afternoon drivetime. KXNT AM 840 "The Talk Station" continues to be the # 1 talk station In Las Vegas.

[edit] Shows

Mornings on KXNT, Alan Stock discuss the issues of the day from a conservative perspective. Alan Stock recently appeared in Talkers Magazine as one of the 100 most important people in the talk radio market. Stock's co-host was Kerri Kasem until August 2007, who replaced Heidi Harris when she left in 2006. Currently, "KXNT's Morning Source" consists of Alan Stock as host, and Jack Landreth as supporting host with Corey Olson and Kristen Flowers handling news, Terri Smith with weather and Steven James flying in "Airwing 840". The current configuration is a top rated morning drive show in the market.

Casey Hendrickson tried out for the popular "Radiostar" contest in early 2005, and was promoted to the Weekday 6p-8p slot until October 2007, when his show shifted to 5-7pm to reflect the changed programming lineup. Radiostar 3 winner Heather Kydd soon joined Casey during the 5p-7p slot.

In October 2007 KXNT made a noticeable programming lineup change with respect to live syndicated programming in the daytime.

Rush Limbaugh (9am-Noon), Sean Hannity (Noon-3pm), and Mark Levin (3-5pm) are all carried when they are live on the air, which is a lineup that is only matched by a few large-market radio stations in the United States.

KXNT also airs Coast to Coast AM, Mark Levin, Dave Ramsey, Curtis Sliwa, and The Mutual Fund Show with Adam Bold.
