For the airport in East Farmingdale, New York, assigned ICAO code KFRG, see Republic Airport. KFRG (95.1 FM, "K-Frog") is a commercial country music formatted radio station in San Bernardino, California, broadcasting to the Riverside-San Bernardino, California, area. KFRG is believed to be the original "Frog" station under previous owner Keymarket. The brand name has subsequently licensed by Keymarket to dozens of American radio stations. On August 17, 2006 KFRG became the only country radio station that could be heard in the Los Angeles area by default, as KZLA changed its programming format to rhythmic adult contemporary, until December 1, 2006 when KKGO changed its programming format from adult standards to country to fill void in the Los Angeles area. As a result of the void left by KZLA, KFRG briefly began showing up in the Los Angeles ratings. KFRG focuses more on Orange County and Los Angeles area news and traffic since the demise of KZLA, but on February 23, 2007, KKGO moved its Country format and call letters to its FM sister station, thus bringing a full-powered FM Country music station back the nation's second largest radio market after a six-month absence. In 2009, KFRG and its simulcast stations joined the Motor Racing Network for coverage of NASCAR races.[1] [edit] History Prior to becoming "K-Frog", the station was known as KQLH with an adult contemporary format. This would continue until December 1989, when the station relaunched to "K-Frog" with its current format. KFRG is partially simulcast on the following radio stations: [edit] External links | Country Radio Stations in the state of California | | | Stations: | | | | See also: Adult Contemporary, College, Country, News/Talk, NPR, Oldies, Rock, Sports, Top 40, Urban, and Other radio stations in California | | | Froggy branded radio stations in the United States | | | Franchised Radio Stations | WFGS (Murray, Kentucky) · WFGY (Altoona, Pennsylvania) · WFGE (State College, Pennsylvania) · WWFG (Ocean City, Maryland) · KFRG (Riverside, California) · WOGF-FM (Butler, Pennsylvania) · KVOX-FM (Fargo, North Dakota) · KYLS-FM (Farmington, Missouri) · WWGY (Grove City, Pennsylvania) · WGYY (Meadville, Pennsylvania) · WFGI-FM (Johnstown, Pennsylvania) · WFGF (Lima, Ohio) · WOGG-FM (Uniontown, Pennsylvania) · WFGS-FM (Murray, Kentucky) · WGIE (Clarksburg, West Virginia) · KFGE (Lincoln, Nebraska) · WOGI (Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania) · WGGY/WGGI (Scranton, Pennsylvania) · WFRG-FM (Utica, New York) · WGGE (Parkersburg, West Virginia) · WFRY-FM (Watertown, New York) · WOGH-FM (Wheeling, West Virginia) · WOGY (Jackson, Tennessee) · WLEG (Ligonier, Indiana) · WGYE (Fairmont, West Virginia) · WFGA (Hicksville, Ohio) · WKID (Vevay, Indiana) · WWFY (Berlin, Vermont) · WFFG-FM (Corinth, New York) · WJNR-FM (Iron Mountain, Michigan) · KFGY (Santa Rosa, California) · WJMQ (Clintonville, Wisconsin) · WFGI (Charleroi, Pennsylvania) · KHPP (Waukon, Iowa) · WFKY (Frankfort - Lexington, KY) | | | News/Talk/Sports Brands: Air America • ESPN Radio • ESPN Deportes Radio • Fox Sports Radio • NPR • Sporting News Radio Music Brands: Bob FM • Cat Country • Froggy • Hank FM • Jack FM • KISS-FM • MOViN • Radio Disney • The Fox • The X Religious Brands: Air 1 • AFR • K-LOVE | |
