KEZK-FM (102.5 FM) is a radio station broadcasting a Adult Contemporary format. Licensed to St. Louis, Missouri, USA, the station serves the St. Louis and southwestern Illinois areas. The station is currently owned by CBS Radio Holdings Inc. and features programing from Westwood One.[2] The station is also broadcast on HD radio.[3] KEZK is also home to a morning show co-hosted by Ed Goodman and Dana Daniels every Monday through Friday. It is also the St. Louis representative for the nationally-syndicated Delilah nighttime show. KEZK first went on-the-air as an easy-listening standards station owned by Heftel Broadcasting in 1972 (prior to that, the frequency had been occupied by listener-supported KDNA, later reincarnated as KDHX at 88.1 MHz). However, since 1991, the music played on KEZK has been (and still is) adult contemporary, mostly from the 1970s, 1980s and 1990s, as well as some of today's hits. The morning show features Ed Goodman and Dana Daniels, along with Mary Ann Carson, Susan Thomas, News Director Bob London, and producer Soojin Wallen. Other on-air hosts include Kris Kelly (middays), Jim Doyle (afternoon drive), and Stel Pontikes (overnights), as well as the syndicated Delilah, which airs 7PM-12AM nightly. KEZK is owned by CBS Corporation. In September 2005, KEZK, KYKY (Y98, 98.1FM), and television partners KSDK and KETC simulcast a telethon for Hurricane Katrina relief that raised more than $5 million. The telethon featured an appearance by John Goodman, a native of Affton, Missouri, who now calls New Orleans home and whose family was actually missing for a time during the storm's peak. Sheryl Crow, a native of Kennett, Missouri, and her then-fiancé Lance Armstrong urged viewers to call when they were interviewed by phone from the region. KEZK's HD2 subchannel broadcasts a Contemporary Christian format, which includes faith-based music from mainstream artists along with artists from the Contemporary Christian genre. KEZK-HD2 is programmed by longtime on-air personality Stel Pontikes. KEZK's Program Director is Mark Edwards, assisted by Bob London. AC Consultant Gary Berkowitz is the station's programming consultant. [edit] AwardsIn 2007, the station was nominated for the top 25 markets Adult Contemporary station of the year award by Radio & Records magazine. Other nominees included WMJX in Boston, KOST in Los Angeles, WALK-FM in Nassau, New York, WLTW in New York, and WBEB, in Philadelphia.[4] [edit] References
