The K-League Cup or Korean League Cup is a Korean professional football competition. Since 1992, K-League Cup has been named after its sponsor, giving it the following names: During 1997-2000, There were supplementary K-League Cups The origin competion is the 'Korea Professional Football Championship'. This tournament played in 1986 can be seen as a forerunner of this competition. It took place during the summer, when the national football team was taking part at the 1986 World Cup in Mexico.
