Justin Davis (born March 1, 1978) is a Canadian former professional ice hockey player.

[edit] Playing career

Davis began playing junior hockey with the Hamilton Kilty B's of the OPJHL before joining the major junior Ontario Hockey League (OHL). He played with the Kingston Frontenacs, Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds and Ottawa 67's from 1995 to 1999. In his final year of major junior with the 67's, he helped the team to the 1999 Memorial Cup championship as the host city. With 9 points in 5 games, Davis was awarded the Ed Chynoweth Trophy as the tournament leading scorer.

Drafted 85th overall in the 1996 NHL Entry Draft by the Washington Capitals, Davis began a five-year stint with the University of Western Ontario, competing in the Canadian Interuniversity Sport (CIS) circuit. There, he helped the Western Mustangs win the CIS National Championship in 2002 and was named an UWO Academic All-Star in both 2002-03 and 2003-04. He was named team captain of the team for the 2003-04 season and graduated as the all-time career points leader for men's hockey with 201 points.^[1]

In 2004–05, Davis turned pro overseas with SC Mittelrhein of the Oberliga, Germany's third-tier ice hockey league. He recorded 63- and 51-point seasons with Mittelrhein.

Upon returning to Ontario, he played at the senior level with the Tillsonburg Vipers of Major League Hockey (MLH) for one season. He then joined the Dundas Real McCoys and the team captured the John Robertson Cup to win the Ontario MLH Championships and made it to the Allan Cup in both 2008 and 2009.

• Won the Memorial Cup as Canadian major junior champions with the Ottawa 67's in 1999.
• Won the Ed Chynoweth Trophy as Memorial Cup tournament leading scorer in 1999.
• Won the Purple Blanket Award, which goes "To the student athletes who, in the opinion of the Selection Committee, achieved superior distinction at the Provincial/National level of competition as representatives of Western", in 2003-04 at the University of Western Ontario.^[2]
