Junior roller derby is the sport of roller derby, modified for children and adolescents. Junior roller derby teams or leagues are sometimes called Derby Brats.

The first junior (or "brat") league was formed in Tucson, Arizona by a group of young fans of the Tucson Roller Derby adult league. Since the formation of the original Tucson Derby Brats league, additional "brat leagues" have been formed in over a dozen other U.S. cities. As of 2009, two of these leagues are co-ed, and the rest are all-female.^[1]

The Junior Roller Derby Association (JRDA), renamed from Junior Flat Track Derby Association (JFTDA), is an association of junior leagues. The JRDA has created rules that are specific to junior roller derby. These rules are a modified version of the adult rules established by the Women's Flat Track Derby Association.

As in adult roller derby, many junior skaters choose aliases for themselves, rather than using their real names. As of March 2008, junior girls names are included in the International Rollergirl Master Roster used to register skater names for adult women. Previously, the JRDA maintained its own registry of junior skaters' names.

As of 2009, USA Roller Sports (USARS) accepts junior roller derby leagues as members, and insures their sanctioned events, but requires that the leagues be independent, not sharing a charter with an adult league.^[2]

At the 2007 Women's Flat Track Derby Association Texas Shootout Nationals Tournament in Austin, Texas, the Tucson Derby Brats and the Seattle Derby Brats held a demonstration bout between rounds in the tournament.
