José Manuel Gomes Andrade (born 1 June 1970) is a Cape Verdean-born Portuguese former professional footballer who spent two spells at English side Stoke City during the mid-90s.[1] While at Stoke, Andrade made a total of 16 league appearances.[2]

A 6ft striker of slight build, Andrade broke his leg during a league game at Swindon Town in April 1995 and returned to Portugal during the summer to regain fitness. Andrade returned to Stoke two years later, but although he was a big hit with the supporters, he failed to settle in England and was released after five months.[3]
