[edit] Jordan Anderson

Jordan Anderson (born April 15th, 1991 in Forest Acres, South Carolina) is an American race car driver in the Legends car racing series. He is a two time Lowe's Motor Speedway Summer Shootout Pro division Champion (2007 and 2008) and is the only driver in the series' 17 year history to ever win two consecutive championships.

Jordan Anderson is closing in on his goal, the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series. Anderson, who is 18 and a freshman at Belmont Abbey College, has been working his way through the ranks of the auto racing world with a vengeance for the past ten years. Determined is how most would describe him, a focused competitor very similar to that of the late Dale Earnhardt, who was a gentleman off the track but a force of recognition once the green flag was out.

Anderson is quick to point out where his success comes from. “I’ve been blessed to have a relationship with Christ and I routinely pull from Psalm 37:4, which says ‘Delight yourself in the LORD and he will give you the desires of your heart.’ I have strived since the age of six to honor and glorify God in all I do, and I feel blessed to have the opportunity to use my racing career as a ministry.”

The month of October has been a successful one for this young driver from Forest Acres, South Carolina. On October 9th, Anderson, who switched over to racing dirt this year after nine years of racing on asphalt, scored his first Dirt Late Model at the Carolina Speedway with a last lap pass in the final corner. Just two weeks later on October 21st, Anderson was present at the South Carolina State Fair in the WIS-TV Spirit of the Carolina’s Tent for NASCAR Night at the Fair. Sitting alongside Cale Yarborough, Marcos Ambrose, and Steven Wallace; Anderson and the other drivers signed autographs for the hundreds of fans that showed up to meet the drivers. This showing of the past and present in the history of racing was a time for these drivers to share and give back to the devoted fans for their support.

During his racing career Anderson has achieved many accomplishments both on the racetrack and in the boardroom. He is the only driver in the 17 year history of the Summer Shootout series at Lowe’s Motor Speedway to win consecutive championships during 2007 and 2008 in the Legends Car Pro division. For 2009 Anderson set his sights on racing a Dirt Late Model at tracks across the east coast. As a rookie driver in the series, he went on to capture four checkered flags and placed third in points in the National Dirt Racing Association weekly point’s championship.

With this being his first year on dirt Anderson told of his season and how everything learned came to use in the race. "This entire season has been a learning experience, treating each race as a series of events you could say, that have allowed me to become a better driver through persevering and having that never-give-up desire to win attitude." said Anderson. "Looking back on the year I wouldn't change a thing, it's been such a blast this year to learn how to race on dirt and travel to all these tracks in the area. I truly feel that looking back on the year, and where I was as a driver at the beginning of the season, that I have stepped up my program as a whole."

Racing in the series came to fruition by his mentor and agent, legendary promoter H. A. ‘Humpy’ Wheeler, with whom Anderson signed a lifetime contract with this past March. Wheeler has been quoted as saying that “I know what it takes to succeed in the world of NASCAR, and believe Jordan has what it takes to make it to the Cup Series by his 21st birthday, which is our goal.” Wheeler went on to say that “He is the complete package: driving ability, maturity, determination, personality and character…He is one of the best young drivers in the country.”

Over the years Anderson has been featured in hundreds of articles and interviewed both nationally and locally for his achievements in the world of motorsports. He has a long history of giving back to his community by speaking at local schools and churches. His dedication to the City of Forest Acres, which is his hometown, is unmerited in devotion and love. Anderson has worked hard as an ambassador on and off the track for the city.

Anderson has a long list of supporters including the City of Forest Acres, Dick Dyer Toyota, Leon Jones Insurance, Moore Orthpaedic Clinic, Green Orthodontics, Palmetto Galleries, Athletes For Life, and JAB Construction just to name a few. Many of Anderson’s partners have been with him since the age of 10. Because of his hard work and people supporting his career, Anderson has been written about by many national newspapers as being a marketing maven for his accomplishments in the area of promoting both himself and his sponsors. Anderson realizes it takes more than being a good driver to be successful in NASCAR, you have to not only sell yourself as a driver but you have to be sellable as well.

[edit] Association with The Wheeler Company

CHARLOTTE, N.C. - March 26, 2009 - The Wheeler Company, founded by promotions legend and former president of Speedway Motorsports, Inc., H.A. "Humpy" Wheeler, today announced its endorsement of 17-year-old, up-and-coming race car driver Jordan Anderson of Forest Acres, S.C. The news comes on the eve of Anderson's first 2009 race taking place this weekend at the Carolina Speedway.

"I know what it takes to succeed in the world of NASCAR, and believe Jordan has what it takes to make it to the Cup Series by his 21st birthday, which is our goal," said Wheeler. "You'll be hearing more and more about this young man as his star continues to rise. He is the complete package: driving ability, maturity, determination, personality and character...and he does it all from getting his own sponsorships to towing his own car."

While the endorsement is new, Wheeler has known and unofficially mentored Anderson for more than four years. Anderson's early success, winning the 2007 and 2008 Summer Shootout Legends Car Pro Division, first caught Wheeler's attention. That on track performance, combined with his ability to finance his own racing program since age 10 by securing sponsorships from local organizations and businesses were all contributing factors to Wheeler and his company's decision to represent the young driver. Anderson's sponsors currently include Dick Dyer Toyota, Leon Jones Insurance, Green Orthodontics, Cedar Creek Performance, and the City of Forest Acres, his hometown.

"I am humbled that Mr. Wheeler and his team have such faith and interest in my development and success," said Anderson. "I know their counsel will help take my racing career to new heights but I understand I am still responsible for winning races, generating sponsorship, and seeing that sponsors get value for their investments."

Wheeler has an immeasurable background in motorsports and is a member of nine Halls of Fame including the International Motorsports Hall of Fame. He has successfully operated short tracks; served as Director of Racing for Firestone Tire and Rubber Company; for 33 years was President and General Manager of Lowe's Motor Speedway as well as President of Speedway Motorsports Inc., the first motorsports company listed on the New York Stock Exchange.

Wheeler's expertise in identifying and promoting young talent is second to none. He has worked to get rides, build brands and get publicity for some of the best NASCAR drivers including Dale Earnhardt, Sr., Jeff Gordon, Kyle and Kurt Busch, Tim Richmond, Alan Kulwicki, Dale Earnhardt, Jr., David Ragan and numerous others.

The Wheeler Company is a management consulting firm focused on professional sports, motorsports and general business. H.A. "Humpy" Wheeler serves as chairman and his son Howard III (Trip) is president. The company collaborates with Wheeler Television that specializes in unique racing for TV. It also works with major drivers, tracks, sanctioning bodies and companies involved in racing. For more information, visit www.thewheelerco.com.

[edit] City of Forest Acres

In 2009 Jordan Anderson Racing and The City of Forest Acres ( South Carolina ) entered their third year of partnership together. The association between the two is unique, in that Anderson hails from the city, and is now representing the city as a sponsor. The plan is that the two will become synonymous with each other, and that when Anderson achieves his goal of being a NASCAR driver, put the City of Forest Acres, South Carolina on the map in doing so much like other NASCAR drivers have done in the past with their hometowns.
