He has played full time in the minor leagues as a shortstop and second baseman for the Colorado Springs Sky Sox. Herrera was signed as an undrafted free agent by the Colorado Rockies on April 6, 2002. [edit] Call to the majorsOn April 29, 2008, Herrera was called up to the major leagues to play second base for the Colorado Rockies in response to an injury sustained by their star shortstop Troy Tulowitzki as well as other lineup diffuculties plaguing the ballclub in the early 2008 baseball season. On May 4, he got his first RBI in a start against the Los Angeles Dodgers at Coors Field. On December 12, 2008, Herrera was non-tendered, but re-signed to a minor league deal the next day.[1] [edit] References[edit] External links
