Johnny Andrews is a songwriter/producer based in Atlanta, Georgia. He has written for and with artists on Atlantic, Warner, Jive/Sony, Capitol, and Hollywood Records. Andrews’ songs have been featured on the Fuse video channel, MTV’s “The Hills”, “One Tree Hill” and various movie soundtracks. One of his more recent songs, “I’m Not Jesus”, was performed by the group Apocalyptica which featured Corey Taylor (Slipknot, Stone Sour) on vocals. In addition to being a top 5 Rock Radio hit, the song was also a Top Ten video on The Fuse and MTV. Andrews also co-wrote Apocalyptica’s second single, “SOS” (Anything but Love) which featured vocalist Cristina Scabbia from the band Lacuna Coil.

Andrews formed several bands through the years, most notabably the cult favorite, Johnny Hyde Quartet in 1996. JHQ became the vehicle that honed his skills not only as a songwriter but also as a producer. Two successful releases, “The Red Light is Always On” and “Here Comes the Breakdown” allowed him to work side by side with the likes of Rick Parashar (Nickelback, Pearl Jam), Jeff Glixman (ELO, Kansas) and Butch Walker (Pink, Avril Lavigne). In 2003, Andrews teamed up with former members of Filter, Geno Lenardo and Steve Gillis to form the band Widescreen. The group enjoyed great enthusiasm for their live performances but disbanded prior to a record release.

Since that time, Andrews has focused on songwriting and producing full-time, working most recently with Jeremy Lister, Kevin Griffin (Better Than Ezra), Ingram Hill, Tayla Lynn and Just Surrender. Upcoming releases in 2009 include songs for Finnish rockers The 69 Eyes (EMI), Canada’s buzz band Die Mannequin (Warner), and The Becoming (Tooth and Nail).
