John Fusco is an American screenwriter born and raised in Waterbury, Connecticut, USA. His screenplays include Young Guns, Young Guns II, Thunderheart, and Hidalgo. He is also author of the novel Paradise Salvage. [edit] CareerJohn Fusco is an American screenwriter raised in the small town of Prospect, Connecticut. He is a graduate of NYU's Tisch School of the Arts where his writing mentors were Waldo Salt and Ring Lardner, Jr. He won back-to-back honors in amateur screenwriting his jr. & sr. year of the top prize of a Nissan Sentra. Among his original screenplays are Crossroads, Young Guns, Thunderheart, Hidalgo, and the Academy-Award nominated Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron. He is also the screenwriter of the The Forbidden Kingdom. While best-known for Western and Native American themed films, Fusco has recently drawn on his background in martial arts to write The Forbidden Kingdom, starring Jet Li and Jackie Chan. He states in the special features that he was previously forced to retire from martial arts due to an injury. He is rumored to be working on several related projects for the Weinstein Co.
