John "Johnnie" Baxter was a professional rugby league footballer of the 1900s who at representative level played for Great Britain, and England, and at club level for Rochdale Hornets, playing at Scrum-Half/Halfback, i.e. number 7.

Johnnie Baxter won a cap for England while at Rochdale in 1904 against Other Nations, and won a cap for Great Britain while at Rochdale in against 1908 New Zealand.^[1]
