[edit] Career

[edit] College

Ball played college soccer for Southern Connecticut State. While at Southern Connecticut State, his team won the NCAA Division II Championship in his freshman and senior year while reaching the Final Four in all four years.

[edit] Professional

Ball made his debut for the Chicago Fire against the Dallas Burn, playing 90 minutes, on August 22, 1999. He scored his first and only MLS goal in the Western Conference Semifinals against the Dallas Burn on October 16, 1999.

In 2005, Ball signed with the Rochester Raging Rhinos of the USL-1.[1] Additions to the Rhinos midfield during 2008 saw Ball transition to a defensive role where he was a regular starter at right back. It had been announced on the team website just prior to the 2009 season that John Ball has signed a one-year deal with the Rhinos for 2009, where he is expected to continue his role in the back line.[2]
