Joe Westerman, born in England, is a rugby league player for the Castleford Tigers in the Super League competition. Joe Westerman's position of choice is at Loose-Forward or Stand-Off. Westerman is being tipped as a future representative honours, and has been compared to former Great Britain captains Andy Farrell and Paul Sculthorpe. [1] [2] Westerman has been named Co-op National One young player of the year for 2007. [3] Westerman has been included in the England Squad to face France on June 27th. He has been named in the England training squad for the 2008 Rugby League World Cup.[4] Joe did not make the final cut for the England rugby league team in the world cup due to injury. Joe had a fantastic 1st season in super league scoring 12 tries in 25 games. He will be looking for an even better 2009 with Castleford. In 2009 whilst playing against Saint Helens Joe suffered a fit whilst on the pitch. He since made a full recovery and has played on through 2009. Joe scored a Hat Trick against Harlequins in September 2009, his first one in Super League. [edit] References
