The Jindal Global Law School, the first school of O. P. Jindal Global University, is based in Sonipat Haryana India. The University was established in January 2009 under the Haryana Private Universities (Second Amendment) Act. The first academic session of the JGLS is scheduled to commence in September 2009. O. P. Jindal Global University and Jindal Global Law School are recognised by the Bar Council of India (BCI). The admission test (LSAT—India) by Law School Admission Council, USA conducted by Pearson VUE, through its affiliate in India for selection of students for admission to the JGLS, is approved by the Government of Haryana.

The Jindal Global Law School (JGLS) aims to provide world-class legal education with both national and global perspectives. JGLS will educate students about law in the context of globalization and impart skills required to be a successful lawyer. JGLS will strive to inculcate in students a sense of professionalism, responsibility towards society, respect for the rule of law and fundamental freedoms of others as well the virtues of honesty, integrity and rectitude in their relationships with others.

In 2009-2010, its inaugural year, Jindal Global Law School is offering a three-year LL.B. and five-year B.A., LL.B. degree programmes.

Looking forward, academic committees of the JGLS will be responsible for designing additional degree programmes, as allowed by the Bar Council of India and the University Grants Commission. These may include a Juris Doctor (J.D.), Master of Laws (LL.M.), Doctor of Juridical Science (S.J.D.), and Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) programmes. Apart from degree programmes, the JGLS will also develop training courses for teachers, paralegals and other professionals.
