Jennifer Butler is an award-nominated costume designer.^[1] She is best known for being the former wife of actor Bill Murray.

Butler was nominated for a Saturn Award in 1994 in the "Best Costumes" category for Groundhog Day^[2].

On July 4, 1997 she married actor Bill Murray. They have four children together: Jackson (b. 1993), Cal (b. 1995), Cooper (b. 1996), and Lincoln (b. 2001)^[3]. She owns a home on Sullivans Island, S.C., where she lives with the couple's children.

On May 12, 2008 in Charleston County she filed for divorce after nearly 11 years of marriage, alleging Murray abused her and is addicted to sex, marijuana and alcohol.^[4] The divorce complaint also alleges Murray physically abused his wife and in November 2007 "hit her in the face and then told her she was 'lucky he didn't kill her.' ".^[5] The Butler/Murray divorce was finalized by a judge on June 13, 2008.^[6]
