Jeffrey Scott Christy (April 13, 1984, Lincoln, Nebraska) is a catcher in the Minnesota Twins organization, currently assigned to their Double-A affiliate New Britain Rock Cats in the Eastern League. He stands 6'1" and weighs 210 lbs, and has a brother and two sisters who are quadruplets.

As a senior at Lincoln Southeast High School, he batted .430 with four home runs and 41 runs batted in. He was drafted by the Los Angeles Dodgers in the 49th round of the 2002 MLB Draft, but chose instead to attend Barton County Community College.

As a freshman Jeff hit .333 with 5 home runs and 34 RBIs. As a sophomore in 2004, he hit .390 with six home runs, and 45 RBIs. he threw out 40% of would-be base stealers and committed only one error in 375 chances, helping his team go 37-18 and a second place conference finish.

After a great junior college career, he transferred to the University of Nebraska–Lincoln, where he was their starting catcher. In 2005, he was part of the 2005 College World Series team. He set a school record with 64 starts behind the plate, batting .236 with 32 RBIs, only one home run and a team high twelve sacrifices. Jeff threw out 46% of the opposing base runners, and in the NCAA Tournament, he threw out 8 of 11 runners. He batted .293 in the Tournament, including .277 in the CWS. In the 2006 Major League Baseball Draft, Jeff was selected by the Minnesota Twins in the sixth round.[1]

In 2006, Jeff began his professional career as a member of the Elizabethton Twins. with a .259 average. After little more than half a season at the rookie level, he was promoted to Class A Advanced Fort Myers Miracle on August 9. After only six games with the Miracle, he was promoted again finishing the season with the Double-A New Britain Rock Cats, where he played in only two games, going 0-for-6 with a run scored and an RBI.[2]

Christy started 2007 with the Fort Myers Miracle. He was promoted to Double-A New Britain again on June 1. He went 7-19 (.368) in 11 games but was transferred back to the Miracle a month later. He played in 67 at Fort Myers batting .225 with 26 runs and 22 RBIs.

He went back to the New Britain Rock Cats to start off 2008 playing in 23 games before being promoted to the Rochester Redwings for the rest of the season. Together, he went .213 with 10 doubles, nine RBIs and 24 runs scored in 59 games.

Jeff attended the Twins' 2009 major league spring training camp, but was reassigned to minor league camp on April 1, 2009.[3] He started his second consecutive season with the Rock Cats. He was called up to the Rochester Redwings but was called back after batting .200 in 13 games.[4]
