Java is a fictional character featured in the Martin Mystère comics.

Java is a Neanderthal Man discovered by Martin Mystère in the hidden "City of Lucid Shadows" while on an expedition to Mongolia.

He has superhuman strength and endurance, and shows a heightened sensitivity to both natural and paranormal phenomena. He is extremely faithful to Martin and assists him through his adventures throughout the world.

Java bears a marked resemblance to the similarly-name, brutish-looking villain Java, an antagonist of DC comics hero Metamorpho.

Java is a regular character in the Martin Mystery animated series, which is based upon the Italian comic book. In the series Java is the source of comic relief. He also talks, although in a Grimlock manner, speaking in third person.
