Career highlights

Jason Winderlich (born 10 October 1984) is an Australian rules footballer, currently a young midfielder for Essendon. Since his first round draft in 2002, he has shown only small signs of breaking through at the club. Despite having a small build and lack of natural confidence, he has an effective ability for attacking the play, however his greatest strength is his pace ideal for the modern game.[citation needed] Following a promising show early in the 2006 season, he suffered a season ending leg injury. Later in the year, he placed a credible second in the Grand Final sprint. The 24 year old has been a big improvement in the 2007 season, currently averaging more than 20 disposals a match. In round 2 2009 against Fremantle, he was the best on ground with 27 disposals as well as kicking an outstanding goal. Before he kicked the round two goal of the week, he received the ball from Jobe Watson, fed it to Hayden Skipworth then got it back, kicked it to Adam McPhee getting a second one two, broke a tackle, handballed it to Watson and got it back from him and kicked the goal.
