Jason Demetriou is a rugby league footballer who plays for the Wakefield Trinity Wildcats.

Demetriou is the club captain of the Super League club. His usual position is loose forward, and he can also play centre or stand off. He has worn the number 8 shirt this year, in memory of Adam Watene.

He was Wakefield's player of the season in 2006 and 2007 and was named in the Super League Dream Team in 2007 as well as being nominated for the Man of Steel award. ^[1]

Demetriou has a contract at Belle Vue until the end of the 2010 season. ^[2]

Demetriou has previously played for Widnes Vikings, Rochdale Hornets and Lancashire Lynx. ^[3]

Jason currently is largely associated with the Adam Watene Fund, helping raise funds for his family in New Zealand.

Internationally he has represented the Greece national rugby league team^[4] and the Canada national rugby league team^[5].
