Career highlights

Jarred Moore (born 6 March 1986) is an Australian rules footballer in the Australian Football League.

He made his debut for the Sydney Swans in Round 7, 2005 against Essendon. Jarred Grew up in Langwarrin. Jarred also played for Langwarrin in his junior days and then went to the Dandenong Football Club where he was recruited as the number 31 draft pick in the 2004 AFL Draft. Sydney Swans have trained Jarred Moore and he is now a weekly player and will progress through the AFL rapidly.

Jarred was touted as a potential number 1 draft pick in 2004 [1] due to an exceptional performance in the grand final of the TAC league cup, a feeder competition for the senior AFL league. Despite his superior footballing skills he failed to meet the required athletic standard for drafting but was granted a reprieve by the Sydney Swans, being selected at a respectable number 31 in the 2004 AFL Draft. Jarred spent three years playing primarily in the ACT/NSW reserve football league, with the occasional outing for the seniors before finally breaking into the senior team in the 2008 season. His unhearalded talent won widespread ovation following outstanding performances against Essendon and Port Adelaide in rounds 8 and 9 of the 2008 AFL season. These two games brought Jarred's footballing skills to prominence and reignited the long running debate in media circles regarding the relative merits of footballing skill and athletic ability in the drafting of young talent.

Jarred's team, the Sydney Swans entered the 2008 season attempting to revive the success of the 2005 and 2006 teams. The success of these two teams was built of an ethos of hard work, accountability and commitment to the cause tippified by the Bloods captain, Brett Kirk. The recent loss of key senior payers in the Bloods team has accelerated the promotion of certain young players with Jarred Moore singled out as a future leader of the club. Jarred was also tripped by Brian Lake in the round 10 match against Western Bulldogs. Lake was banned for 1 week.
