A. James "Jim" Croston is a former professional rugby league footballer of the 1930s and '40s, and coach of the 1940s who at representative level has played for Great Britain, England, and Lancashire, and at club level for Castleford, and Wakefield Trinity, playing at Centre, i.e. number 3 or 4.
[edit] International HonoursJim Croston won caps for England while at Castleford in 1936 against Wales; in 1938 against Wales (2 matches), and France; in 1939 against France, and Wales, and won a cap for Great Britain while at Castleford in 1937 against Australia.[1] [edit] Challenge Cup Final AppearancesJim Croston played Centre, i.e. number 4 in Castleford’s 11-8 victory over Huddersfield in the 1935 Challenge Cup final at Wembley Stadium on the 4th May 1935,[2] and in Wakefield Trinity’s 13-12 victory over Wigan in the 1946 Challenge Cup final at Wembley Stadium on 4th May 1946.
