James Colvin was a pseudonym used by Michael Moorcock on several short stories appearing in New Worlds in the 1960s, in order to disguise the amount of material Moorcock (who also edited the magazine at the time) was contributing to it.

The name was also used on several of the magazine's book reviews, although it is believed that some of these were written by others.

Colvin was officially killed off in a 1970 issue of the magazine. His obituary stated that Colvin had died from pneumonia after being crushed by a toppled filing cabinet.
