Jackie Battle (born October 1, 1983 in Houston, Texas) is an American football running back for the Kansas City Chiefs of the National Football League. He was signed by the Dallas Cowboys as an undrafted free agent in 2007. He played college football at Houston.
[edit] Early YearsBattle started his football career as a youth playing football in the Humble Area Football League HAFL. Battle also attended Humble High School. [edit] Professional careerIn mid-2007, Battle suffered an ankle injury and was cut from the Dallas Cowboys. He was later picked up by the Chiefs. [edit] Kansas City ChiefsOn December 23, 2007, he scored a touchdown in his first NFL carry in a Chiefs loss to the Detroit Lions. Battle was released by the Chiefs during the final roster cuts in 2008. Battle was then signed to the Chiefs practice squad. Battle was made active by the Kansas City Chiefs on November 1, 2008 to replace to Larry Johnson who was suspended. He currently plays on several of the Chiefs' special teams, and occasionally runs the ball. In a game against the Dallas Cowboys early in the 2009 NFL season, he suffred a torn rotator cuff in his shoulder. He underwent surgery and was put on injured reserve ending his season.
