Jarell Damonte Houston (born on August 11, 1985),[1] better known as J-Boog or Boog, is an American R&B singer and actor. His stage name came from his grandmother calling him "Boogie" because of his love of dancing,[citation needed] and the J simply the initial of his first name. He is a former member of R&B group B2K.

Houston was born in Los Angeles, California, raised in Compton, California and has been rapping, singing and dancing since the age of eight.[citation needed] He is a cousin of actor/singer Marques Houston.[1]

Houston was a member of the boy group B2K, along with Omarion, Raz-B and Lil' Fizz.

Houston starred in You Got Served, the hit dance movie, with his band mates in B2K, along with Marques Houston and Young Rome. Houston (Jarell) played the character Rico, the peacemaker of the group.

[edit] Solo career

In 2004, Houston and Lil' Fizz started their own record label called Fizz and Boog Inc.

Houston is signed to record label Capitalist Entertainment. He was scheduled to release his first solo album, My First Words, in the summer of 2008.[1] On September 4, Boog and Fizz premiered a new video titled Bounce on 106 and Park.

Night Life album set to be released Nov. 17th 2009. Bounce is the first hit single from the album.

J-Boog and girlfriend Jondelle Michelle Lee welcomed their daughter, Anaia Jolie Houston on October 3, 2005. Their second child, son Jarell Damonte Houston Jr., was born on December 14.
