Information Society is the self-titled album by Synthpop, Techno, Freestyle band Information Society. It was their first release under a major label, after two independent albums. Numerous top 40 hits quickly led the group to fame and fortune.The album went gold (500,000) after 5 months in the U.S and also went gold in Brazil in just 10 days. The album had several chart topping hits such as What's On Your Mind (Pure Energy), Walking Away and Running.

  • It is one of the very few CDs to have CD+G content. As the CD+G format never caught on and compatible players are somewhat difficult to find, the whole content was also made available on the band's Web site.
  • "What's on Your Mind (Pure Energy)" was used in a sampler disc bundled with the Sega CD to showcase the console's CD+G capability. It had the same graphics as in the album.
