Illinois Route 50 is a north-south state road in northeastern Illinois. It runs from the junction with U.S. Route 45 in Kankakee north to U.S. Route 41 in Skokie. This is a distance of 66.49 miles (107.01 km).[1] [edit] Route descriptionIllinois 50 is referred to in most of the Chicago area as Cicero Avenue, named after the west suburb of Cicero. At its north end, it is known as Skokie Boulevard until U.S. Route 41 picks up the name and the road. Illinois 50 is a major north-south artery of the city of Chicago, and is one of only seven state roads to enter the city of Chicago. It has four lanes (two northbound, two southbound) for most of its length. It is the only street that serves the passenger terminal for Midway Airport. [edit] External links[edit] References
