"I Couldn't Live Without Your Love" is a 1966 single written by Tony Hatch and Jackie Trent and recorded by Petula Clark. It was inspired by the affair the songwriters were having at the time. Clark's first public performance of the tune was on her BBC variety series, This Is Petula Clark. The single peaked at number six on the UK Singles Chart and number nine on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. It spent one week at number one on the US Easy Listening chart. It was the first of two number ones that Clark would have on this chart, the other being 1967's "Don't Sleep in the Subway". A French version was released under the name "Vieillir avec toi" (Grow old with you) and a German version entitled "So wunderbar verliebt zu sein" (So wonderful love to be) reached #38 in Germany. Petula Clark was backed on her recording of "I Couldn't Live Without Your Love" by the Wrecking Crew.[1]
