Being a professional wrestling championship, it is not won legitimately: it is instead won via a scripted ending to a match or awarded to a wrestler because of a storyline. The championship was first won by Escuadron de la Muerte (Spanish for "the Squadron of Death"; Maniac Cop, Vader Cop and Cyborg Cop) as they defeated the team of Oficial, Vigilante and Guardian in Naucalpan, Mexico on November 11, 1999. The title has primarily been defended in Naucalpan since it's inception as it is the "home" of IWRG. No Trio has held the title twice and only Cerebro Negro and El Venero are the only two wrestlers to have held the title twice. ''Los Villaños (Spanish for "the Villains"; Villaño III, Villaño IV and Villaño V) is the trio that has held the title for the longest time, 683 days. The Japanese trio of NOSAWA, Takemura and Mazada held the title for ten days, the shortes reign of any championship trio. The current champions are Los Oficiales (911, AK-47 and Fierro) who are the 11th overall championship team, having defeated Cyborg, Kraneo and Xibalva on September 28, 2008.[1] [edit] Title history - Key
