The III Army Corps was a formation in the Imperial German Army. It was established in 1814 as the General Headquarters in Berlin (Generalkommando in Berlin) and became the III Army Corps on April 3, 1820. Prior to World War I, its headquarters were in Berlin, but at the beginning of the war it was transferred to the Western Front, leaving a corps rear area in Berlin to handle administrative matters and induction and training of recruits. Notable commanding generals include Friedrich Graf von Wrangel (1849–1857) and Karl von Bülow (1903–1912). Its component units in 1914 were:
