The Hugo Awards are given annually by members of the World Science Fiction Convention for the best science fiction or fantasy works. The awards are named after Hugo Gernsback, the founder of the pioneering science fiction magazine Amazing Stories, and given in various categories. Winners and nominees for the Hugo Award for Best Dramatic Presentation are presented here. The winners are bulleted, and the nominees are sub-bulleted beneath each winner. Awards given in one year are for works released during the previous calendar year. Winning titles are listed first, with other nominees listed below. In 2003, the category was split into Long Form and Short Form awards, for presentations longer and shorter than 90 minutes, essentially to distinguish between theatrical movies and television episodes. In the case of television presentations, the award is for a particular episode rather than for a program as a whole.
